The Barnhouse School of Early Childhood Education Ltd has two branches, home child care and adult education.
Executive Director, Rosalie Barnhouse,
B.A., E.C.E., has been a dedicated educator of young children since 1984. For more than twenty
years she has held educational positions in day care centers, nursery schools, Kindergarten
programs and as a nanny.
Most recently, since 1998, Rosalie has enjoyed teaching a Maximum of 5 children in her home.
Rosalie’s curriculum has evolved from over 20 years experience as an early childhood educator in
the field and from adapting Ontario’s Kindergarten Program to a preschool level. The blending
of the two elements along with her own teaching style and techniques have given birth to a quality
home based education for young children.

In addition to educating young children, Rosalie has also considerable experience teaching
Early Childhood Education techniques to adults by means of seminars and workshops. Rosalie was recently
invited to speak at Woodroffe Public School for their parent lecture series. In the past,
she was invited to enhance the curriculum of high schools and Ottawa University on topics related
to education as a guest speaker. Currently, Rosalie is conducting informal evening seminars and workshops
in the comfort of her clients' homes. Home instruction can be adapted to each client's needs and interests.
There are a wide range of topics from parents skills to developmental milestones of children ages 1-5 years.
Parents and caregivers learn to guide, facilitate and support children’s behaviour,
development and early education with the use of simple early childhood education techniques
and methods.
